I find it totally shocking that these businesses are simply following the laws of the state. 😉
Do these women not understand that even before the changes to the Concealed Carry laws in the state of NC that this guy who “scared them” would have been legally allowed to conceal carry or even open carry in Harris Teeter, unless otherwise posted? These women should be more afraid of the outrageous prices that Harris Teeter tries to push on the customers. How I wish that Bi-Lo would come back.

I forgot the mention that these ladies have probably walked and shopped right beside me and yet never knew that I was legally conceal carrying. That close to legal handgun and NOTHING happened. How scary is it now?

Oh, it’s still terrifying, because stupid doesn’t make sense.

I love the bit at the end about how the state law allows guns in “parks and playgrounds.” This wasn’t reporting…it was propaganda.

EXACTLY! Thank you. I just wondered out loud what the point of that last part was. The only thing I can reckon is that they want to drive home how close to home this law hits viewers and the best way to get people involved in protesting something is to show how much of a danger to kids that issue is.
But they gave two people a good 5 minute segment to soapbox, so I can see how they would try and be cheerleaders for the two women.
If I was protesting releasing toxic wast into the ground water outside an elementary school, and I only had one other person to support me, the news would laugh at me when I asked for my 5 minute segment.
But add guns and they are “all aboard” the gun control bandwagon.

What gets me is these people are scared of people who open carry.. for every person you see that open carries there is probably 5 or more that are concealed. These people are not the ones they need to be scared of its the criminals who carry concealed that they never see with a gun till it is pulled on them to be robbed. At that time they may be lucky and there will be an honest person carrying that saves them. If they want to work on something let them work on boycotting these judges that let the criminals go back on the street to do more damage.

Thank-you Eddie, I agree. One judge here let a guy get off for hitting his neighbor with a bat, he got probation, and neighbor was in the hospital for 2 days.
I guess these ladies should not call the cops if they have a problem, cops have guns too!

Of course having a bomb scare at Walmart’s back in September in Kernersville didn’t warrent any attention by the news media.

I’m not sure whether to laugh at them or pity their ignorance. I carry a Ruger .45, though it is typically out of sight, and have somehow resisted the urge to shoot any frightened old women in grocery stores.

Robert November 7, 2013 at 11:01 am

They don’t realize they are much more likely to have ‘bullets whizzing by their heads’ in gun free zones. Not in areas where the good guys and gals can carry. Also their ignorance cannot infringe on law abiding citizens rights.

I sincerely hope no one decides to make Harris Teeter their “friend” as some did with Starbucks to unfortunate results. I love shopping at HT and would hate to have to stop because they were driven to pull a Starbucks. If it is just two ditzes, and everyone just ignores them, then we will have another step towards normalization. They don’t deserve more publicity…they don’t even deserve the publicity they’ve already gotten.

Starbucks has not changed it policy on firearms in the stores. They simply made a public request that gun owners stop using their stores as rally points.

A couple effing idiots…. What these brain-dead zombies fail to realize is that these open carry and conceal carries are LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS exercising their right(s). I’d bet you my next year’s retirement checks that if some crazed lunatic came in the store and started shooting the place up, they’d be bitching about HT not having at least one armed guard in the store during it’s normal hours of business.

Hmm let me think. leave the sign down and lose 2 customers. Put the sign up and lose LOTS of customers. What should I do as a business owner. Decisions Decisions.

Hilarious… 2 OLD bats are afraid of guns and don’t want bullets *whizzing* around their heads…

You can’t fix STUPID, and *The Stupid* is STRONG in these old girls..

It was an “open carrier” that she saw in the store and got all bent out of shape over.

These women should move to a gun free city like Chicago. No one is allowed to own a gun there, or even in the state of Illinois. Maybe New York, or some other New England State.

Virgil Hilts November 8, 2013 at 8:55 pm

Vermont has open carry…and you do not have to ‘register’ your firearm. New Hampshire, where I live…is equally common sense. The really Loony states up here are Mass, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Jim Morriss November 12, 2013 at 11:11 am

Chicago is NOT a gun fre zone. The LEOs carry and so do the Bad guys. The only people that are ‘gun free’, are the law abiding folks, which by definition does not include criminals. It is just one more oxymoronic action anme used by the libs. ‘Patriot act’, ‘affordable care’, etc. I’ll get excited when the asses in DC pass the “take away your money” act because that will mean I’m about to get rich….

I don’t make it a habit of debating with morons. They just beat you with experience and drag you down to their level.

Why did she feel threatened? The firearm was never pointed at her or anyone or even handled by the owner? Did she lie down on the floor at the mans feet or something?

I forgot everyone carrying a gun is out to kill……People really need to get educated and read our countries constitution. To think someone in a store with a open carry pistol is dangerous just blows me away and it is extremely uneducated to think so. Last time I checked when someone is going to rob a store they are going to bring a gun whether there is a sign or not. The media has people so brainwashed these days its crazy, they see one gun murder on television and think the “gun” is responsible, yeah guns are the most efficient weapon but outlawing them will not stop crime just go ask Great Britain who has the highest crime rate in the world.
Go out and buy a gun and shoot it, its no dangerous than the person carrying it. This woman obviously was never exposed to firearms in her life and it is sad to see our country becoming so anti-gun since our founding fathers themselves said every man should own and carry a gun. That’s what the 2nd amendment is for right??
