Every since I started running ‘the gun wire.’, I find story after story of stories that really aren’t the story in the headline. A story I just uncovered minutes ago is one example. It can be read right here, and this is the headline…oh, but before you click the story, read the headline and come to a conclusion of what it might be about. Of course, that’s the intent. Now click:
Was the story about a shooting on the campus of Dominican University? No.
It was a story about a shooting near the campus of Dominican University.
A further read of the article states that a bullet was found inside an office of a university building.
All said, the facts are thin. Was the guy shooting at the campus buildings? The story says the shooting was ‘near’ the campus, but was it on the campus at all?
In any event, I saw the headline and, after all the negative press firearms got last week, I thought to myself, “Oh no, its only Monday – not more of this shit.”
The article says he is ‘linked’ to another Dominican University campus shooting. I dunno, does he live near campus? That might explain it.
Well, I don’t have much more to say about it. Just another example of a headline that wasn’t really what it sounded like…
