Joerg, you are truly a genius! I’m impressed, especially with the shot groups you get! Keep up the outstanding and innovative work!

Excellent! But don’t we need some legislation keeping these out of the hands of children and criminals? Keep up the great work!

Well that’s awesome!

You realize of course that there is probably some law that makes it illegal!

Reply

TMLutas February 11, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Does a CCW permit cover that?

B-)

Reply

Rich Vail February 11, 2013 at 12:24 pm

That is an engenious design. I’m a historian and I’ve never seen anything like it outside of the movies. Well done sir.

Reply

infidel February 11, 2013 at 12:38 pm

That is obviously an assault slingshot.

Reply

Casey February 11, 2013 at 9:11 pm

AND it has a pistol grip!….

Reply

Jeff February 11, 2013 at 12:40 pm

Beyond cool !!! Why didn’t they have something like this when I was a kid…I had to suffer with an original Wrist Rocket. Pretty nasty with .22 ball bearings, though. Yet, this full auto/ semi-auto powerhouse is so more sophisticated and outright fun.

Reply

Dennis February 11, 2013 at 12:40 pm

Oh man…awesome!

Reply

Scott February 11, 2013 at 12:43 pm

This was great fun. You are a good woodworker. That is a very elegant gatlingsling.

Reply

Michael Becker February 11, 2013 at 12:47 pm

Absolutely awesome. Now then, need to come up with auto cocking so all you’ll have to do to fire again is load more bolts.

Reply

David Krishan February 11, 2013 at 12:55 pm

Dude, I’ve never been to your site before but this thing is frikkin’ awesome. I like full auto too. :)

Reply

Bob Rahm February 11, 2013 at 12:55 pm

Outstanding! I wonder if you could devise an auto-cock using the energy from the spinning cylinder, and auto reload from inside the cylinder, a spring loaded nested helix, perhaps replaceable (a magazine construction). If the mags were “pre-springed”, and the reload could use the power drill energy, you could shoot till the battery ran down. I like the use of the standard crossbow load.

Reply

eric February 11, 2013 at 1:04 pm

This needs to be on the Walking Dead.

Reply

bill r February 11, 2013 at 1:14 pm

An assault slingshot! With a quick reload feature. This must be outlawed at once!!!

Reply

Chris Caban February 11, 2013 at 1:20 pm

Joerg, you are incredible. We are going to make this thingy in our dorms thanks to you.

Reply

Aaron Migliaro February 11, 2013 at 1:23 pm

That’s awesome! Combining the reusable ammo of a crossbow bolt with the Automatic weapon. genius.

Reply

marfdrat February 11, 2013 at 1:28 pm

That is totally awesome. I agree with Eric – needs to be on Walking Dead.

Reply

Jason February 11, 2013 at 1:38 pm

That thing is totally awesome! Just the sheer fun of firing that thing would be worth the plane ride alone.

Joel Taylor February 11, 2013 at 1:43 pm

There is only one possible comment to make here:
I want one. I want one. I want one.

Do you sell them or plans to them?

Reply

Jeremy February 11, 2013 at 1:44 pm

Arrived here via Instapundit — The sling gatling is teh coolness.

Reply

Russell O. February 11, 2013 at 1:56 pm

Too cool. Do you have instructions on how to make one? Would love one at home!

Reply

Doug February 11, 2013 at 1:59 pm

mad genius @ play! love it!

Reply

RockThisTown February 11, 2013 at 2:03 pm

Awesome. This device will save many lives – just like Gatling invented his gun for: what previously required 8 men on the battlefield now only requires 1. Ingenious indeed. I do wonder, though, is the 8-shot cylinder detachable? If so, that would be super awesome – you could have several standing by and after each one is depleted, simply detach, put on a new one and away you go. Better hurry before DiFi finds out.

Reply

Billll February 11, 2013 at 2:18 pm

One could connect a Sawzall to a Chinese repeating crossbow…

Reply

Sarah February 11, 2013 at 2:31 pm

Yup, I definitely need this.

Reply

Paul February 11, 2013 at 2:39 pm

Cross bow darts how clever…my favorite part was your comment “I love weaponizing black and decker tools.”

Reply

Very cool! Do you publish plans?

Reply

Joeqc February 11, 2013 at 5:40 pm

This is one of the finest slingshots I have ever seen. The select fire option makes this a truly versatile shooter, the double pistol grips make for ease of handling – I can’t say enough about the brilliant design work – magnets to hold the bolts in place! I rank the designer among Browning, Kalashnikov and Garand as a true genius of engineering.

Bravo!

Mattsky February 11, 2013 at 5:43 pm

It will most likely be outlawed in New York state before the end of the week.

Reply

Michael Sterling February 11, 2013 at 6:19 pm

Beautiful design. Will the next one you create possibly cradle small ball bearings, one per shot? Small gripping configuration at the holding / release point? Best luck to your imaginations!!

Reply

egoist February 11, 2013 at 6:41 pm

Joerg, you say Black & Decker, but you are actually a Craftsman. It’s cool that it’s made of wood.

Joerg, speaking of weaponizing tools, this has to be up there with the automatic nail gun for civil usability! Totally imaginative and practical. Drop by and say hi on FB – will be following your inventiveness… your friend in thought, Mark

VERY nice. Bet the anti-gun lobby hates this – but this is COOL! Is that Baltic ply you are using?

Reply

Daniel Kirkeby February 13, 2013 at 1:18 pm

That is totally wicked! I love it. An intruder would never know what him him. Also has to be a ton of fun just to target practice!

Posted to Stumbleupon.com, a heparin Reservoir in the darts or a EDTA anti coagulant and spring loaded barbed blades. 3 or 4 of those and a high torque drill to power a auto cocking mechanism and 2 loaders(assistants) and you can have more or less sustained fire.

allen February 18, 2013 at 2:24 am

A lot of dead zombies, way cool carpentry work.

Be careful. If the Leftist Democrats find out about this, they will add it to the gun ban they are trying to pass.
