From my search, The New England Journal of Medicine document that Morgan seems to reference is a 1993 article by Kellermann, et al. “Gun Ownership as a Risk Factor for Homicide in the Home.” The conclusions of that study were disproven by Don Kates, et al. in 1994 in the Tennessee Law Review.
I hope Morgan isn’t as offended by poor research as he is by women buying guns.
Piers Morgan is an idiot. I am a woman. I own several guns. I am an NRA certified instructor. I live with a man who knows how to shoot guns. Women own guns to protect themselves. Women own guns because they like to shoot. Women are no more in danger from their spouses or significant others if the women own guns than men are from their spouses or significant others if they own guns. Take the guns out of the equation. Either partner could just as easily do harm with a butcher knife in the middle of the night. I do not need some ignorant Brit telling me what my rights are in America. He should just be thankful that our country has given him an opportunity and shut his non-American yap.
