As a retired law enforcement officer I have had more than enough encounters with concealed carry permit holders. Generally, once they told me they were permitted to carry, I’d ask where the weapon was at, ask for the permit, and once confirmed everything was ok, I’d finish the reason for the stop and say good-bye. I never asked anyone further questions as to why they were in an area unless there was something suspicious going on. In America we do not need travel papers to move about the Nation.

As a retired law enforcement officer from Oregon upon making a traffic stop and running the vehicle license the following information appears on the computer.
1. Is the vehicle stolen
2. Is the Registered owner valid
3. Is the Registered owner wanted
4. Is the owner gang affiliated
5. Does the owner have a CCW.
If the owner is the same as the driver and has a valid CCW ( not revoked) it’s none of my business if he has the gun with him or not. And guess what I don’t have a “Right” to know.
As a retired Deputy Sheriff in good standing I can carry a concealed handgun interstate with my Police credentials and a valid HR218 card.
I do not have a CCW so no flags will go up on a traffic stop, and I tell No One that I’m armed.
You would be amazed how many of these new armed puppy’s are clueless regarding the laws and I have no intention of telling them I’m armed and scaring the shit out of them.

Out of curiosity, are you saying that having a CCW causes flags to go up on a traffic stop?
